ABSTRACT:

Marrying effective design and achievable sustainability when it comes to packaging is a challenge for meat processors all over the world, and businesses are beginning to innovate to tackle the impact on the environment.

In the UK, food businesses, local authorities and retailers have signed up to the Plastics Pact which aims to make 100% of all plastic packaging reusable, recyclable or compostable by 2025. Meat processing businesses such as ABP, Cranswick and Dunbia have all gotten involved which shows how seriously the industry is taking this issue.
